Review: LEGO Xtras Xmas Accessories

The holiday season is fast approaching and with that, all sorts of new sets and things are being shipped out to the LEGO stores. Sets from the upcoming Star Wars film and Frozen 2 have gotten a lot of attention, but that doesn’t mean that they are the only things in town.

One of the smaller offerings from LEGO is a Holiday Xtra polybag. Like other Xtra bags, this has a few accessories and a couple of minibuilds that can be used to fill out a layout. In this case, in the 34-part bag, you’ll get the parts to make a minifigure scale snowman, a candy cane for a yard or store display, a snowy (white) branch with ice, some presents, and a Siberian Husky.

Accessories include a tree, a large transparent snowflake, a sack, a cap and a couple of fences. As an accessory set, this isn’t bad – the candy cane is a nice item to add to a storefront or by a door. The other builds are easy and light on parts, much like Advent Calendar models.

What makes the polybags worth getting (for an AFOL, anyways) are the dog and the fence parts. The husky was only available in a handful of sets, of which none are priced at the price point of the polybag: $3.99. The polybag lives up to its name: Xtra.

You can order this polybag at the LEGO webpage or buy it at a LEGO Brand Retail store.
