To celebrate the LEGO Superheroes line and to coincide with San Diego Comic-Con, BrickJournal 20 will be a Superheroes issue! With the assortment of articles that we will have, I wanted to also have the LEGO fans participate in a more personal way. With the support of the LEGO Group and their Superhero contest, DK Books, and some other groups I am contacting,we are hosting this contest.
What is it? It's a building contest. Build with your LEGO parts a scene inspired by superheroes. You can build a diorama based on a comic book cover or layout, or build a sculpture of Batman or design a set you would think could be a part of teh LEGO superheroes theme. DC or Marvel heroes are fair game for this contest, but these HAVE to be photographed scenes, as the best scenes will be included in a section in BrickJournal! There will be prizes given out, with the best scene getting a full page spread and a LEGO Batman and Green Lantern minfigure that were given out at San Diego Comic-Con. Other prizes include the Ideas Book and the LEGO Star Wars Character Encylopedia by DK Publishing, and more will be announced as the contest continues!
Deadline for entries is Black Friday, November 25, 2011. All entries must be primarily be in LEGO bricks and elements, however, third party parts and props are allowed. Minifigure modification is also allowed in depicting heroes and villains. Send photos of entries to email@example.com, title line: I have a Superhero Scene! Final photos will have to be high-resolution (2400x3300 pixels approximately), but for the contest, web resolution is allowed. The smaller the photo size, the smaller it will be in the magazine.
So good luck and build your best comic scene!
